"This house and connected barn resembles the type of home and connected workshop barn which were common in New England at the turn of the century. The barn could have been used as a carriage house, a shop for home based industry or even to house few animals. Local records refer to this as the Edward Cole House. Edward Cole was one of the charter members of the Bow Volunteer Fire Department and his daughter Helen was a well know teacher who served Bow Schools for many years."
